| Long time no post...not much had been happening in my life until recently. So I thought I would catch everybody up for those of you who still care. Lets see, birthday came and went and I got what I wanted which was money for an exhaust system for my motorcycle...woohoo. I finally realized that driving my truck was going to put me in financial ruin so I bought a car, 96 Acura integra. Green 5 speed, 10 gallons goes 300+ plus miles as opposed to 23 gallons going maybe 350 miles. So thats nice, things are looking up right...wrong. A week after I bought my new ride, I got to spend most of the night in the hospital. Why you ask, well I did what everybody does in my hobby, I wrecked my bike. Of course it sucked, thankfully it only did body damage and broke off a foot peg and bent the shift lever. Yeah, didnt break anything (whew) but had severe internal bruising and a couple of seperated ribs according to the doctors. Thats what happens when you hit the ground going 60mph. I was exiting WestBound Kellog onto SouthBound 135 misjudged the angle of the turn, and saw the shoulder coming up out of my peripheral vision. Then I did what you should never do in that case...I freaked looked at the shoulder and over the ramp I went and onto my side. Trashed the front end punched a hole in the gas tank and cracked the rear section. I was however wearing my helmet and my armored jacket. So I only had to deal with major discomfort for a few days and I couldnt lay down to sleep...slept in the recliner for few nights. Other than that not much has been going on. Steph and Thomas are getting married on the 30th, so things have gone into overdrive here. Still employed thankfully however looking for another job, cause the repitition that comes with answering information calls is mind numbing to say the least. This has been a long time coming, but since I just finished watching the news, and became upset I decided I had to. First things first,
Immigration, yes its a great thing, but like most things its good in small doses. While at times I can be racist, I tend to be the most with illegal immigrants, and the people who HELP them. Why is everyone in this country trying to help these people break our laws? Arent you people tired of loosing our culture? Arent you tired of having to pay more in taxes so we can hire billingual teachers so there kids can get an education, because they refuse to learn english? They are literally ruining our culture as Americans. I have no problems with mexicans celebrating whatever they want. What I have a problem with is the mexicans...legal or illegal coming over here, changing our entire culture to suit THERE needs because they dont want...or refuse to learn english, demand we pay to have billingual everything so they can get it the way they want it. If we were to start going to into mexico, they would make us learn mexican...they dont speak spanish, ask any TRUE spanish teacher. We would have to learn their language, abide by there culture, and become part of there country. Over here however, they dont have to learn english because we accommodate them, they dont have to abide by our culture because we accommodate them, so much so that they dont have to change anything about themselves. I am not asking they give up everything about their culture, all I am asking is that they at least learn english well enough to communicate with the general populace. I experience this first hand, I am a 411 operator, my company has a special group down in Texas, dedicated to JUST spanish directory assistance. Thats overhead the company has to pay for, and thats less money we can earn because they have to pay for that. The argument has been made several times that they do menial labor jobs that americans wont because it pays nothing, good for them. They are called migrant workers, they work on farms, roof our houses, and build our roads. Can you talk to them...no you have to learn mexican. The government wants to make it easier for them to get Drivers licenses, so they can get bank accounts, and car insurance. Does anyone really understand that we are HELPING THEM break our laws? California last year spent a large amount of money to put in water stations for them so they can have a drink when they are crossing the desert from the hole they crossed at the border, because they were dropping dead of dehydration...know what I say, good. Let them, it wasnt our problem before whether they lived or died...why sould it be now. There are protests going on right now where mexicans all across the nation are joining hands and are demanding that we help the illegals. They use arguments like "George Washington was an illegal immigrant" Which while I will agree with based solely on the technical aspects of the argument...hardly apply to this day and age. The one that got me said "Illegals pay taxes too" To which I say horseshit. At best they pay sales tax, the dont pay personal income or property tax, because they dont exsist in the system. The liberals of this country are welcoming them with open arms...what the HELL. For the love of god stop making them welcome, stop encouraging them, stop HELPING them. You are worse than they are because you are making me pay more out of my paycheck to pay for programs so they can get an education, welfare, or anything else for that matter. If a border jumper comes over here, and has a child, that child is a legal citizen of the USA. That has to be stopped. With that child the illegal parents are entitled to all kinds of government aid such as welfare, section 8 housing, food stamps, insurance...all of that...ALL of that comes out of YOUR pocket. They dont PAY taxes, so they are getting it basically for free, while you, the law abiding citizen, see less and less of your paycheck because of it. Please tell me that there are more people out there who are tired of this problem as much as I am. For the record...I am pissed at Bush for this proposed plan of his so he can make peace with the liberals, while at the same time pissing off the people who helped him get there.
Secondly
Oil prices, the price of oil is all over the news today, and if I remember correctly the price of a barrel of crude oil was set at an all time high today of just over $70 dollars a barrel. We as an american public are the most unorganized group of people about this issue. We are angry that gas goes up but we dont do anything about it. Here is a fun little factoid for you people in case you missed it. When Katrina hit, the price of gas skyrocketed the DAY after. Oil companies said they had to charge more at the pump so they could make sure to have enough money to buy more crude because of the loss of the offshore rigs. What they didnt tell you is that Exxon-Mobil the largest oil company in the United States posted more in profits during the 3rd fiscal quarter than they did the ENTIRE year before that. Yet no one got up in arms, no one said a damn thing. Sure there was an investigation, but that quietly went away and no one was punished. Financial analysts are now saying that because of Irans announcment to begin enriching uranium (basically starting a nuclear program) that we could see prices up over 4 dollars a gallon between memorial day and september, (the heaviest driving season.) What do we as a people do, we bitch about it on T.V. but we still pay it. I pay it because I drive a truck, and right now my fuel economic car needs repairs. So I am kind of stuck, I do however own a motorcycle, which I will be riding ALOT here shortly, because even at 4 dollars a gallon, that bike is only 16 bucks to fill up, and that will take me 230 miles. Why hasnt anyone demanded that Bush regulate gas prices like he has in the past. I say its time we stand up and finally say we are done taking it in the rear so you can have a platinum lined pool....thats all for now, but there is so much more to go...there is a video game post coming down the pipes here soon...To the pursuit of loose booze,
